The SEED (Sustainable Community-based Enterprise Development) Erasmus+ project continues to make strong progress across partner universities in Malawi, Zambia, Ireland, and Europe. The initiative focuses on developing micro-credentials that build green skills, support sustainable livelihoods, and strengthen university–community partnerships.
A key highlight is the development of a new Entrepreneurship and Climate Change micro-credential, designed to equip learners with practical skills to respond to climate challenges and support local enterprise development.
Highlights from Across the SEED Network
• Kwame Nkrumah University (Zambia)
Engaged youth organisations such as Restless Development Zambia to explore pathways for youth participation in micro- credential programmes and sustainable entrepreneurship.
• Maynooth University (Ireland)
Strengthened research–community partnerships through engagement in sustainability and climate collaboration events, opening opportunities for future funding and partnerships.
• Mulungushi University (Zambia)
Advanced stakeholder engagement by collaborating with Nkumbi International College to support micro-credentials aligned with industry needs and the bio-economy.
• Mzuzu University (Malawi)
Worked closely with youth-led farms to co-develop a micro-credential in micro-propagation, ensuring training is grounded in real agricultural practice and local needs.
• University of Naples Federico II (Italy)
Promoted inclusion through innovative programmes linking sport, anti-discrimination initiatives, and campus-wide engagement for social cohesion.
Looking Ahead
The next SEED mobility will take place at Mzuzu University in June 2026, where partners will further develop and pilot micro-credentials while strengthening regional collaboration.
